Creating Your Educator Wellness Toolkit
Dates
- Saturday, January 17, 2026 | 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm
- Wednesday, February 4, 2026 | 6 to 7:30 pm
As an early childhood educator, you give so much of yourself every day.
Join us for a two-part workshop that offers a hands-on, safe space to focus on your own wellness and mental nourishment. Both sessions are designed to be calm, creative, practical, and offer tools that support educator wellness and self regulation, both at work and beyond.
This workshop is open to early childhood educators currently working in licensed early learning and child care programs in Yukon.
Bring your curiosity and an openness to explore what supports you.
A little bit about the facilitator: Dr. Ofelia Tatu
Ofelia has a PhD in Psychology and works as a School Wellness Specialist for the Student Wellbeing and Inclusion division of the Department of Education.
Part 1:
In this longer session, educators will come together to explore simple, practical self regulation and wellness practices that can be used in everyday life. There will be time for quiet reflection, creative activities, listening to your favourite music, and learning through guided practices and short presentations. Participants will complete a self assessment to help them choose practices that feel meaningful to them and begin creating their own personal Wellness Toolkit.
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026
Time: 12:30 to 4:30pm
Location: Child Development Centre (206 Hanson Street)
Part 2:
This follow-up session is an opportunity to reconnect as a group. Educators are invited to share how they have been using their Wellness Toolkits, ask questions, reflect on what worked (or didn’t), engage in mindful activities, and learn from one another in a supportive environment.
Date: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Time: 6:00 to 7:30pm
Location: Whitehorse Public Library
*Please note that by registering for this workshop, you are registering for both sessions.
