Culturally responsive practice in action - Frugal and found

Is it possible to provide high-quality, culturally responsive programming on a budget? Can I create engaging learning experiences for children without purchasing pricy materials?

YES! and YES! Quality early learning and care doesn’t have to be expensive, and we want to show you how.

Join us for an interactive workshop!

Educators will explore ways to provide high-quality and culturally responsive learning opportunities on a budget. ECEs will learn how utilize culture resource kits and repurpose existing materials from their environment to create tools and activities that support children’s early development.

During this workshop, educators will:

  • explore their creativity by putting together engaging make-and-takes;
  • connect inquiry-based exploration, emergent curriculum, and regulations;
  • celebrate cultural identities of the children they work with; and
  • discuss strategies to support culturally responsive practise using recycled, repurposed and budget friendly materials.

When: January 31, 2024 from 6 to 7:30 pm

Where:  Whitehorse Public Library (main floor)
