My inner calm: self-regulation and managing all emotions
Wednesday, November 19, 2025 | 6 to 7:30 pm
Whitehorse Public Library meeting room (on the main floor)
Have you ever noticed how hard it can be for children (and adults!) to find their calm when things feel overwhelming? Big emotions, loud noises, or too much activity can make it tough to think clearly or respond kindly.
Join the ELCC team for My inner calm, a hands-on workshop focused on helping young children (and ourselves) understand what calm feels like and how to get there. We will also discuss ways to help children express big and small feelings in safe and healthy ways.
This workshop is being offered to early childhood educators currently working in licensed early learning and child care programs.
Educators will explore:
-
The difference between self-regulation and social-emotional learning, and why both matter.
-
The science of calm and how to get there.
-
Tools for teaching children how to find their calm and express their emotions
-
Ways of using literacy to help bring these ideas to life in meaningful ways.
Snacks will be provided!
