Self regulation for educators

Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Supporting young children starts with supporting ourselves.

Join Miranda Colbert, of the ELCC team, for this 4-hour interactive workshop, where educators will explore the Shanker Self-Reg® approach to stress and self-regulation. Discover how to recognize stress in your own life, reframe behaviours, and restore your energy so you can bring calm, balance, and resilience into your classroom.

Educators will learn:

  • The difference between self-regulation and self-control
  • How stress affects your body, brain and relationships
  • The 5 domains of stress and how to spot hidden stressors
  • Understanding the importance of taking time to reflect, restore and recharge

Leave with practical tools and fresh insight to help you care for yourself. After all, a regulated educator is the foundation of a thriving classroom.

This workshop is available for 12 educators currently working in licensed early learning and child care programs.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will close once all spots are filled.

This workshop will take place at the Child Development Centre.
