Join the ELCC team for a free evening of adventure as we explore the animal tracking early learning culture kit. 

The Early Learning and Child Care branch at the Yukon Department of Education have partnered with Yukon First Nations Education Directorate and the Early Years Program to offer the ‘Understanding the Early Years’ course. The course, rich in Yukon First Nations culture, supports the development of culturally competent early childhood educators.

This 1.5 hour workshop, delivered by LDAY and Aurora Workshops, introduces the concept of growth mindset and how we can use it to increase children's willingness to take on challenges in school and life.  

Whitehorse Public Library

This 1.5 hour workshop will provide space to expand our awareness of mental health, to share our diverse perspectives and to explore factors that shape our view of mental health.

In this workshop, educators will explore ways to provide high-quality and culturally responsive learning opportunities on a budget. ECEs will learn how utilize culture resource kits and repurpose existing materials from their environment to create tools and activities that support children’s early development. 

ELCC is partnering with St. John’s Ambulance to host a free First Aid Recertification course for early learning educators currently working in licensed early learning and child care programs.
